The first step is to find what size the original speakers are.

You can use the "outfit my car" feature on http://www.crutchfield.com or enter your vehicle make and model on one of the car audio sites or here:

In addition to the speaker diameter, Crutchfield also tells you the mounting depth required.

Some good quality speakers in almost all sizes are Alpine, Infinity, JL Audio, Kicker, and Rockford-Fosgate. There's others too, but these are all well-known brands with consistent quality

After purchasing your speakers, you need to learn how to remove the original speakers and install the new ones. Here again, Crutchfield can be very helpful. If you purchase the speakers from them, they will provide a vehicle specific "master sheet" that details the process. The master sheet shows what panels to remove, how to remove them and even where the screws are located. And if required, you'll also get plug-in connectors to simplify the wiring.
